Overview

Dear Principal or Head of Media Studies Department,

Panasonic New Zealand is pleased to invite your school to enter the 2010 Kid Witness News (KWN) short film competition!

Overview
KWN is a hands-on film education programme created to encourage students from years 5 to 13 to develop their cognitive, communication and organizational skills through the use of Panasonics latest HD Video and DVD technology.

Students are invited to create and develop an idea for a short documentary film based on one of two themes – The Environment or Communication. The entries are to be submitted on 'storyboards' provided by Panasonic. The top 10 storyboards in the country will then be selected and those 10 schools will be awarded with the latest Panasonic camera equipment and coaching in order to develop their idea into a 5 minute DVD. Schools that are not selected can still submit their video entry using their own equipment. Schools can also purchase video equipment through Panasonic.
